INDICATIONS
Used to treat infection caused by gram-positive bacteria*
- E. coli
- Enterobacter aerogenes
- Shigella species
- Acinetobacter species
- Respiratory tract infections caused by Haemophilus influenzae
- Respiratory tract and urinary tract infections caused by Klebsiella species
Used to treat infection caused by gram-negative bacteria*
- Upper respiratory tract infections caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae
- Skin and skin structure infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus
ADMINISTRATION & DOSAGE
- Initial dose of 200 mg, then 100 mg administered over 60 minutes every 12 hours and should not exceed 400 mg in 24 hours.
- Rapid IV injection administration should be avoided.

METHODS: Study was conducted of 71 adult inpatients enrolled at 6 different US hospitals who were treated with minocycline IV for gram-negative infections for at least 48 hours as monotherapy or combination therapy.
